I try to balance my sims addiction with my WoW addiction.
At the moment I am following 7 or 8 legacies via RSS, the Charms and the Silvermoons are the current favourites.
I play my own legacy - but it has stalled at Gen 8, because I don't want to finish it - I like the family too much! I also started an apocalypse challenge, but gave up when it stopped being fun. I have posted details of my third sim-family in the challenge forum - they have been the most rewarding to play of late - however my boyfriend has got me back into WoW for the moment so I haven't played in a few days (I tend to ignore him a bit when I'm playing with my sims!)
In real life I am a programmer, so I am always on a computer.. at work and at home. Because of this I sometime burn out for a while, and spend a week or two just watching DVDs and not touching my computer (except at work of course!)
I have been pretty silent around Reflections and the other blogs until yesterday.. now I might try and interact a bit :-)
EDIT: ooh I see hrootbeer is here too.. I also love the Kendricks!

Great to see you in the forums, druelf! Sorry you didn't take to the Apocalypse Challenge well. I did try to make the adapted rules extremely challenging, but still fun. Oh well. Maybe it's just not everyone's thing. I enjoy playing my Apocalypse Challenge very much. It's a nice break from the traditional "make it to generation 10, amassing wealth and happiness without cheats". That being said, I still adore the Charms, haha. I'm not much of a reader of legacies. Tiari's blog is the only one I follow religiously at this point. I'm just so busy updating my own blog and playing my own challenges that I don't have the time on my hands, but I do enjoy hearing how everyone's doing in their challenges and stories. Anyway, we're glad to have you here and I hope to see your screen name around the forums more. EDIT: I just moved what you wrote in your second post to your first post and deleted the other one, to avoid double-posting. Hope you don't mind. Try to remember to use the edit buttons rather than posting twice or more in a row.

Totally fine, sorry about that Ashleigh. My forum decorum skill is pretty low :-)
I found the apocalypse challenge fun at the start - and it got massively easier when I lifted the medical restriction.
I think it was the combination of the game crash making me lose 5 hrs of playtime, and then replaying it to only just miss out on the child painter restriction that got me really bummed.
In fact, I really like the bunker I built (two stories on poles, with a flat roof that is fenced and has the boom box and easel), and I think I'll come back to it.. I guess the 'hopelessness' just got to me.
I also really like to follow the rules to the letter, so I wasn't game to change the ageing to give me longer before losing control of the elders.
I think it is a great challenge, I think the difficulty is just right.. I mean, we're talking end of the world stuff here - it's supposed to be hard, and there is supposed to be disappointment :-)

Heh heh, well you can play the challenge on either Normal or Long lifespan. You can always switch to Long if Normal is too difficult for you. That's perfectly within the rules; you just don't get the 5 extra bonus points at the end of the challenge that you would have gotten for playing the challenge on Normal from start to finish.
