Okay, so I've always felt really sorry for Agnes Crumplebottom. For those of you who've never paid much attention to her, she's Cornelia Goth's little sister and her husband, Erik Darling, died in a tragic accident while they were on their honeymoon. Her house has an unfinished nursery in it so it's apparent that her and Erik were planning on starting a family soon. In earlier Sims games, she is a lonely, bitter old woman who wanders around Downtown being mean to young couples.
I always hope she finds someone and doesn't succumb to that horrible fate, but she never does, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and make sure poor widowed Agnes finds love again.
This is just an account of how I "saved" Agnes. It's not really a story, more like an author's narrative.
-----------
Now, the game developers were not very kind to Agnes when they were picking out her wardrobe, makeup and hair, so the first thing I did was give her a makeover. I kept the black theme, since she's still in mourning for her husband, but I gave her better-looking clothes that didn't make her look 50 years older than she really was. She's actually quite pretty underneath all that drab.
Then I had her hit up the park, since that's where most of the town seem to congregate at the beginning of the game.
Lucky for Agnes, Stiles McGraw was at the park with his roommates. I had Agnes go over and talk to him and the two of them really hit it off. Agnes is a very skilled cook, so she invited him over to her house for dinner to eat sushi.
She was a little nervous and shy. I guess she still missed Erik and wasn't sure if she should have another man in her home so soon after his death... she's also a loner, but they became fast friends and she even tentatively asked him to stay the night.
Nothing romantic happened between them that night, though Stiles and her did share a bed, since that was the only bed in the house.
Stiles and Agnes' friendship continued to grow as they spent more and more time together and it wasn't long before the two of them were in a committed relationship with each other.
Due to Agnes' Hopeless Romantic trait, she fell for Stiles very quickly and Stiles apparently fell for Agnes just as quickly. The next day (which I suppose would be the next year or so, if you converted it to our time line), Stiles invited Agnes on a date at the beach, where he got down on one knee and asked Agnes to be his wife.
I was actually kind of worried she'd say no, since their relationship level was a bit lower than I usually propose at and she's not very social, but it turns out I didn't need to worry at all. She said yes, squealing with happiness.
Agnes' second wedding was beautiful. They got married at the same beach where Stiles proposed. Agnes does look stunning as a bride, I must say. Stiles cleans up pretty good, too.
I figured out why her and Stiles hit it off so well when he moved in. They're both frugal loners.
The newly wed Agnes McGraw is over the moon about being married again, though I'm sure she still misses Erik, too. I don't think you can ever really get over something like that, no matter how much time passes or who else you fall in love with. Stiles wanted a honeymoon, but Agnes refused. I think she was afraid she would lose Stiles the same way she lost Erik.
Not only did I want Agnes to find love, but I also wanted her to find personal fulfillment and happiness, along with her family. Agnes' LTW was to be an Illustrious Author. Her painting skill was already level 7 or 8 at the beginning of the game, but she had no writing skill, so I got her started writing novels, which did very well, due to Agnes being a bookworm.
Stiles' LTW was ridiculously easy to fulfill. His LTW was to be Swimming in Cash with 52, 000 simoleans. Agnes already had 16, 000 or so when he moved in and she had a sports car worth 51, 000 simoleans. I sold the car, and voila! Instant LTW fulfilled! I used the LTHP to buy rewards to help him advance in his career.
Of course, being newlyweds, they had their fair share of fun in the bedroom, too, and it wasn't long before Agnes discovered she was going to have a baby. For some reason, I took no screenshots of her pregnancy. Sorry, guys. I thought I took at least one or two.
Anyway, Agnes had a really smooth pregnancy and Stiles was ecstatic to be a father.
Stiles' big thirtieth came around and Agnes decided to give him a morning love-making session as a birthday present, but their fun was cut short.
Agnes' water broke while they were having sex and she went into labour. The funniest thing about that is it's oddly realistic. I hear that sex really can induce labour, though I'm not sure if that's a wise tale or not. I've never been pregnant, so I wouldn't know, heh heh.
After the usual silly panicking, Stiles finally gets Agnes to the hospital, where she gives birth to a baby boy. She names him Erik, in honour of her late husband. I'm not sure Stiles would approve of his son's name if he knew its origin.
Mom and dad return home with their new family member, both of them beaming with joy. As soon as they got home from the hospital, Stiles rolled the wish to hold his son and to kiss his wife. Awwww...
And Stiles still has time to have a little birthday celebration in the kitchen before work.
He also gets a makeover. Now that he's 30 and a father and an orchestra member, he needs a more sophisticated, established look.
Of course, baby Erik doesn't let them celebrate for very long. To my great displeasure, he turned out to be a really needy, fussy baby. Agnes doesn't mind a bit. She spends a lot of time with her new son in the nursery she finally got to finish.
The next day is Agnes' birthday. It's time for her to turn thirty as well. She also gets a makeover after blowing out her candles. It's been a few years since Erik Darling died, and Agnes has moved on with a brand new family of her own, so it's time to shed the black and start wearing colours again!
Right now in my game, Agnes is close to fulfilling her LTW. Her painting skill is level 7 or 8 (I can't remember which, exactly) and her writing skill is level 6. Stiles is quickly climbing the career ladder in the Symphonic branch of the music career, and baby Erik is enjoying having a mommy and daddy who love him and dote on him.
And that is the story of how I saved Agnes Crumplebottom.
